Help Needed with 10am and 11.30am Crèche We urgently need two or three additional helpers to assist on a monthly rota basis at the 10am crèche. We need to have 2 people on duty each week and would ask those who feel that they could help to speak to the Minister or Heather Smyth as soon as possible. Help is also urgently required for the crèche for the 11.30am service. Please speak to Ruth Bell as soon as possible (028 93322850 . Thank you.
Norma & Hill Cowan Wish to thank everyone for their prayerful support for them and their family circle in their recent bereavement, and to those who sent cards, telephoned, visited their home and attended the funeral service. In Belfast Bible College at 9.30am – 1pm Topics: May 10 Jesus the boy – his education; Jesus the workman; Jesus the Galilean. June 14 Jesus and the Torah; Jesus the story-teller; Jesus and the Sabbath. Sept 6 Jesus in the synagogue; Jesus in the Temple; Jesus and the Halakhah (Oral Torah) Cost: £20 per Saturday (incl. light lunch) or £50 if booking all three at once. Global Day of Prayer – Sunday 11th May 2008 On the afternoon of Pentecost Sunday 11th May, Christians from many diverse streams are gathering in many public places across our land and across the world to repent and pray for our land. Prayer guides, giving the local venues are available in the Link Area, Please take one and plan to participate.
GMYC Would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended our Candlelit Dinner Evening last Saturday night. We hope that everyone had an enjoyable evening of good food, friendship and musical entertainment. We appreciate your ongoing support of the choir and our fundraising efforts towards our Mission Trip in July.
Art Exhibition / Sale & Coffee Morning On Saturday 10th May 2008 @ 10.30am – 2.30pm. Come and view the talents of many people from the Youth Choir and our congregation and make a purchase of these special one off pictures, paintings, tapestries and much more. As part of the day there will be a Coffee Shop area, Car Wash, ending with an Auction of some items which have been kindly donated. Proceeds from this day will be shared with Christian Aid Work & GMYC’s Mission Trip in July.
Christian Aid – We believe in life before death Do you want to see an end to world poverty? Do you want to help people in the world’s poorest places to live better lives? Then get involved in Christian Aid Week! In Glengormley Methodist we are going to be running special events during the week to raise money for Christian Aid: Saturday 10th – Quizaid Table Quiz, Movie and discussion. Sunday 11th – The 7pm service will focus on world development. Monday 12th – 17th – We need volunteers from the Church to carry out a door to door collection in the Glengormley area (contact Liz Lyttle 028 90842894 or the church office to volunteer).
Every Single One - Tony Campolo An evening of music and challenge for all ages. Tuesday 13th May 2008 @ 7.30pm. Assembly Buildings (Spires), Belfast Admission free – offering will be taken.
Fishing Trip Saturday 17th May 2008. We will be meeting at the church at 9.00am. Anyone interested in attending please contact Andy Morrow 90849392.
Friendship Club Outing This coming Saturday 17th May. Meeting at the church 9.15am to leave at 9.30am sharp, as we plan to go to Bethlehem, visit the Moravians, mystery stop, lunch and finally the barn in the Glens. Singing, eating sweets and unruly behaviour will not be tolerated on the bus!

Variety Concert for Senior Citizens On Wednesday 21st May @ 7.00pm. Free Tickets + Supper. Speak to - Anna Torrens, Hill Cowan or Drusilla Cunningham.
Young At Heart – Retirement Exhibition Wednesday 21st & Thursday 22nd May 10am – 4pm in The King’s Hall, Belfast - Free Shuttle Bus. There will be more than 80 exhibitors – Financial Advice, Health and Fitness, Holidays, John Cushnie’s Gardening World….. and much more! A Special Praise Weekend Saturday 24th May & Sunday 25th May 2008 - Several members of 'Worship Academy' are joining us for a special weekend at the end of May. A worship seminare is planned for the Saturday afternoon 24th May followed by a Praise evening. Our visitors will also take part in Sunday Worship on 25th May, when we are also having a fund-raising lunch with the Youth Choir. Look out for the flyers.
Clearing our Vision The detailed Report approved by our Church Council has now been condensed and is being printed for every family in our church. We will be lauching this on Sunday 1st June 2008, thus continuing our journey forward under God’s direction. Watch this space.

Top class 5 x course banquet meal, £25 per person. £10 of the £25 will be returned to the Youth Choir (yes that’s £10 back!!!). If we get 110 people we have the place to ourselves. Praise in the Park - Combined Glengormley Churches - Sunday 22nd June 2008 in Glengormley Park The Picnic & Praise will be suitable for all age groups. This is a great opportunity for church members to invite along friends & family, some who may not otherwise attend a church service. This event will also appeal to church organisations i.e. Sunday school, bible class, mum & toddlers group etc. Schedule for the event: - Picnic & Gathering Songs 1.00pm, Praise Service 2.30pm Finish (approx) 4.00pm.
